A Wanderer’s World

Shot in some of the most remote landscapes of Great Britain, this personal, intimate and philosophical film reflects on the beauty and the sacred nature of the wilderness and the natural world as seen through the eyes, heart and mind of a long-distance hiker. Sharing with you some of the most spectacular and wild British landscapes, the film explores the profound importance of human connection to the land, the value of solitude and serenity, and the need to reconnect to Nature and thus to our humanity.

Allow me to take you on a journey into the heart, soul and mind of an individual who finds the spiritual and the divine in the world of trees, the moorland, the whisper of the breeze and the murmur of a stream. A person spoken to by Nature in a language beyond words. It is a story of connecting to the sacred and the uplifting realm of Nature, the home to which I will always return, wherever I might be.

Great visually crafted film. Also I remember the landscapes, I even tried to climb Ben Nevis once (what an epic fail that was). And philosophically speaking: life is nothing but a journey...

Who knew UK was so wild :P While the technical aspect is imperfect at times (some of it looked like shaky mobile footage), the message was earnest, and that is what counts. Personally, I would take it easy on the fade to blacks, plus all the selfie shots - many of them were valid and well-made, in the end it felt like a bit too many. Also, you use poetic and timely quotes, but then your grumpy facial expressions and somewhat abrupt cuts had a comedic impact on me. Overall enjoyable, and well-meaning. Good job!

Thank you both. I really appreciate the comments. (Most of Scotland is certainly still very wild!) Never tried climbing Ben Nevis yet (maybe this year). Lisa, thanks for your comments. The technical aspects - yes, definitely some of it imperfect. The major part of the footage was filmed last year in August on a 4-day trek in the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland across what is the longest stretch between two roads in Britain (wild) and that's filmed with camera, a tripod and a proper handheld (it is not easy to film stuff like this in such an environment, I can tell you that), but you are quite correct that some of the footage was done using a mobile and is shakier than it should. This represents 8 or so years of hiking and the older shots are from the time when I was no film-maker but only was just beginning doing videos for my channel. It was only more recently when I started doing stuff more seriously, so that's why the difference. And yes, there are some editing issues, so good to have your feedback there. I tend to be quite happy in the outdoors, more so than in civilisation, so not sure about grumpy, though. :) I can be quite wiped out from physical exertion on these, so maybe that was just that, lol. Thank you for taking the watch it and leaving the comment - appreciate your thoughts. If it came across as earnest and well-meaning, that means I am on the right track. Planning my next one as we speak.
