Although at first glance this cut-out animation could be characterized as a gothic horror genre, the story that the young author Anabela Mlinarić (17) deals with is actually much more complex and in a touching way presents a girl’s first encounter with the death of a loved one. At the same time, it reminds us of the fact that we all experience the death of loved ones with difficulty, showing us in a poetic way, through 2 minutes of technically brilliant and meticulously executed animation, almost all the phases we go through when someone close to us dies – from shock, terror, daydreaming to calmness, sadness and memories.
