wishing | an original dark comedy horror short film that debuted at the 2026 Starzec Film Festival
Six kids. Annual family film festival. Hosted for two decades. Never won a thing. Wishing that wishing will be a contender this year (maybe even win one of our 3D printed trophies)!!
wishing is my 2026 entry, an original horror short film about a quiet suburban afternoon that gradually unravels into something very unusual, as one neighbor’s strange experience becomes harder and harder to explain.
investigators try to piece together what happened from the victim’s phone and surveillance cameras, but the truth behind his final night may be even stranger than the footage suggests.
wishing is the first film from starzec studios, blending found footage, dark comedy, mystery, psychological horror, traditional cinematic storytelling, and an original dynamic score to create an experience that may not be what it seems.
