In a dystopian future, robot battles have become a spectacular sport enjoyed by all. Theseus, a worn-out robot scarred by countless duels, faces Aegis, an opponent who has always defeated him. Exhausted by his failures, Theseus begins to evolve, gradually modifying his body to adopt identical parts to those of his rival, hoping to finally surpass him.
However, with each new upgrade, Theseus loses a part of himself. His body grows more and more like Aegis’s, while his true identity fades away. He eventually realizes he can no longer continue to strip away what makes him who he is. He removes his enhancements and returns to a form close to his original state.
Witnessing this sudden change, Aegis becomes aware of his own transformation. Moved by admiration and pride, he too decides to shed his equipment, so that, at last, they may face each other in a true confrontation, equal to equal.
