Silent Awakening

This handmade stop-motion animated film focuses on the collective dilemma of contemporary youth losing their true selves due to their reliance on online social masks, with a puppet without facial features as the protagonist — it is a microcosm of countless ordinary people on social media. In order to gain a sense of identity in online social interactions, it constantly changes its social masks and gradually loses itself under layers of disguise. Finally, it is overwhelmed and smashes its mask with its own hands, breaking free from the shackles of numbers and finding its most authentic self in ordinary yet warm reality.
