Ñawi Kanki Tuche
“Nawi Kanki Tunche” is a found-footage horror short film inspired by one of the most feared spirits of the Peruvian Amazon: the Tunche, an unseen watcher that hunts by sound, shadow, and silence.
The film follows Nayra, a young woman trapped deep inside the rainforest after illegal loggers ignore local warnings. Over three terrifying nights, she records her final messages—confessions, regrets, and desperate attempts to survive—as the creature closes in.
Shot in a visceral, handheld style and driven by rain, darkness, whispers, and the oppressive weight of the jungle, Nawi Kanki Tunche blends Andean-Amazonian mythology with raw emotional survival.
When the silbido (the whistle) begins…
there is no escape.
