Centennial Spring Radiance (NO WAR EMBER Version)
Peace: A Shared Hope Across the Ages
Reaching 2026, geopolitical turbulence and a resurgent wave of populist neo-authoritarianism have disrupted the fragile equilibrium of our global community. Peace, once taken for granted, now hangs precariously in uncertainty.
“If every generation simply longs for safety, comfort, and an unbroken lineage, what justification could ever allow war to strip away this universal dream?”
Centennial Spring Radiance (NO WAR EMBER Version) is a subversive anti-war musical essay. In this work, timeless Lunar New Year prayers collide deliberately with visceral metal screams and smoldering historical ruins. Wrenched from nostalgic comfort, familiar festive wishes transform into both the tenderest inquiry and an unyielding indictment of armed violence. Citing warnings across eras—from Tacitus to Hemingway—the film stands as an artistic resistance against geopolitical numbness, reminding us that whenever devastation is labeled as peace, conscience must keep vigil over the embers.
Serving as the grand finale of a centennial anthology, the project traces a century of Sinophone popular music through stylistic variations on a single set of lyrics expressing hopes for peace and prosperity across generations. Standing at the journey’s end, the “NO WAR EMBER” edition delivers a poignant closing statement for the world today.
