AGORA AEON
A dystopian chamber play in a cyclical virtual limbo
Experimental short film · 30 min · Finland
In the year 2041, artificial intelligence has become inseparable from human society. The omnipresent Uburu system governs not only infrastructure and institutions, but also the very mechanisms through which people think, communicate, and understand themselves.
When the system collapses, a new artificial intelligence named Agora is brought online to restore order. Instead of processing vast quantities of data, Agora seeks to understand humanity through intimate encounters.
Five individuals are brought in for a virtual questioning session. They are observed and drawn into conversations about identity, freedom, truth, and the nature of consciousness. As the session unfolds, it becomes increasingly unclear whether they are being interviewed, tested, treated — or manipulated.
AGORA AEON is a dystopian chamber play about surveillance, collective consciousness, and the desire to understand — and ultimately control — the human mind. Set in a cyclical virtual limbo, the film explores what remains of individual agency when technology no longer merely observes our thoughts, but becomes intertwined with the very architecture of consciousness.
