The Appointment (mo’ed – موعد)

Musa is a middle-aged man who, in order to solve a grave problem, follows an ancient ritual: every day, he sprinkles water and sweeps the threshold of his house, hoping to meet the Prophet Khidr. He ignores and even mistreats a young street sweeper who appears on his path daily. On the long-awaited day of the meeting, when he sees the young man again and is asked about his need, Musa sends him away—oblivious to the fact that Khidr was that very young man he had been overlooking all along.
