Paulo Ulisses Matola is a Brazilian screenwriter and novelist who currently lives in the city of Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais. Despite his recent debut as a screenwriter, Paulo Matola has already won awards for the screenplay of the pilot episode of the series ‘Beto: Vivendo o Sonho’ (Beto: Living the dream) and for ‘O Andarilho’ (The Wanderer), the latter achieving second place in the ‘Grande Prêmio de Roteiro’ at the Sorocaba Film Festival, Brazil, in 2026. In 2025, Beto: Living the Dream had a successful run, receiving four international awards, being a finalist three times, a semi-finalist once, a quarterfinalist once, selected five times, and receiving an Honorable Mention at the Hollywood Stage Script Film Competition. His other completed projects are the screenplays for the teen horror feature film ‘Lobisomem Brasileiro’ (Brazilian Werewolf) and the horror short film ‘Corpo-Seco’ (Dry-body). In 2026, Paulo plans to write the adapted screenplay for his novel ‘O pequeno Grande Circo Éden’ (The little Great Eden Circus). Currently, Paulo Matola is a member of the jury for the Hollywood Best Indie Film Awards.
