Outsourcing

OUTSOURCING follows two performers attempting to rehearse a remake of Eugène Ionesco’s The Chairs under the direction of an initially unseen AI. As the actors begin outsourcing not only their labor but also their thinking and emotions, the system demands greater “authenticity,” dictating their gestures, expressions, timing, and lines with mechanical precision.

What begins as a rehearsal gradually becomes a process of reconstruction. The performers no longer simply follow instructions; their bodies, identities, and roles themselves become material for the system to reshape. As the boundary between direction and creation begins to collapse, the question of who is performing, who is directing, and what can still be called “real” becomes increasingly uncertain.

Through absurdist repetition and shifting layers of reality, OUTSOURCING examines a near future in which humans are not conquered by machines, but willingly surrender thought, feeling, and authorship to the systems they have built—only to discover that even those systems may not stand outside the structures of control they create.

Really deep exploration. Some systems can be quite dehumanizing. Great work
