LOOSeMOTION- a short film by Poka

In an ordinary domestic space, a television becomes the entry point into an increasingly fragmented reality. A continuous succession of images, bodies and identities unfolds across the screen, initially appearing disconnected but gradually forming an unsettling pattern.

As the viewing continues, familiar figures and recurring fragments begin to reappear, blurring the distinction between coincidence and intention. The television no longer functions simply as a source of images; it becomes an ambiguous presence through which the boundaries between observer and observed begin to collapse.

The film moves progressively from passive observation toward sensory saturation. Repetition intensifies, images become increasingly unstable, and the soundtrack fragments alongside them, reflecting the psychological and perceptual effects of endless digital consumption.

Drawing on ideas of chance, interruption and found meaning, LOOSeMOTION examines attention, algorithmic culture, repetition, surveillance and the changing nature of observation. It reflects on a contemporary condition in which an artificial or “plastic” reality increasingly feeds into—and begins to shape—the reality in which we live.

Returning finally to the physical space from which it began, the film leaves the viewer with an unresolved question:

Who was watching whom?
