DIY Project
Polish golden youth
Another old film of mine from 2002.
Here we witness the clash of three worlds existing next to one another: poets talking about poetry, chavs talking about money and fun, and a metalhead not talking at all.
When they all meet face to face, who’s gonna be the last one standing?
I got an inspiration to make it from a punk rock song called “Dyskoman” by a band called Po Prostu. The title was probably inspired by “Beat on the brat” by the Ramones.
So much for inspirations.
Technicalities:
– I didn’t write dialogues for this film. I just told the actors what the general idea of the scene is, and they were free to improvise.
– While adding subtitles I used 3 or 4 different styles and/or fonts. To make it more messy. For your viewing (dis)pleasure.
(you’re welcome)
– The video quality is crap.
– Budget was 0 PLN.
– The pub where we shot the film is the same place where we made LOKO. Guess who the DJ is…
