Franky
Set in a high-rise scheduled for demolition in Kilburn, London, Blake Court, this two-hander was largely improvised. Mark brings a mix of menace, madness, and grief to the work. Franky is losing Marie, the only person in the world he loves, and she’s running out of ways to fool herself that he’s still safe. The frangibility of the location is matched by the precarity of the characters’ circumstances – which permeates the sensibilities of the actors. It is a terrible situation to navigate, and the authenticity of the performances honours that.
