EXULANSIS

In an era where the phenomenon of extinction is becoming increasingly prominent, the documentary Exulansis aims to explore the concept of “exulansis” within the context of the zeitgeist. While the concept points to the sheer incommunicability of an individual’s lived experiences and emotions, it simultaneously highlights the value of those small, fleeting moments in life that can never be repeated.
Human beings can never fully explain what they experience. Language, more often than not, falls short. This is precisely what we call “exulansis”—the incomplete reflection of what lies within a person to the outside world.
This documentary does not portray extinction through massive catastrophes. Because extinction, in fact, exists within every single moment. It exists silently within the time that passes unnoticed, inside the small moments.
What is being told here is the meaning embedded within seemingly ordinary moments. Exulansis is the documentation of this realization.
It is a way of trying to understand impermanence.
And it is human being’s confrontation with their own existence; because some things can never be fully explained, yet humans try to tell them anyway.
